Some people can, indeed, increase caloric intake without gaining weight because of the absorption efficiency of the gut. In addition, increased fiber intake tends to decrease absorption of calories.

I would point out that people struggling with unwanted weight gain generally have more efficient absorption capability than the average which is 80%. It&#039;s slender folks like myself who don&#039;t put on weight no matter what the caloric intake. Suggest you Google &quot;unabsorbed calories&quot; for further discussion and read &quot;Biochemical Individuality&quot; by Roger J. Williams, PhD.
